Energy Healing for Sensitive Souls

Finding Your Way Back to Yourself

I had the joy and pleasure of meeting Prune Harrispruneharris.com/aboutprune in person in June. I’ve been following her for a long time, and she was a guest last year on my podcast.

Prune was in Annapolis, MD to host a 2-day workshop on Radiant Resilience— an energy healing experience.

Because of our conversation on the podcast, I knew the event would be amazing. I just didn’t know how amazing! Her vibe, her energy, her aura, held the space with humor, compassion, and kindness. I came away each day feeling alive and energized.

I also got to meet women who felt like life soul-mates, although I’d only just met some of them. And I got to spend time with some old friends too.  I came away from the weekend with a full heart.

The event was so full of energetic practices, and new ways of thinking about how to restore your soul energy. And although it was a lot of information to process, I never felt overwhelmed. And that’s a first for me! Most trainings leave me feeling as if I’ve experienced a tidal wave of information that flows over me, not into me.

Feeling Grounded

Information overload can have a big impact highly sensitive people. Because when there’s too much information being shared and not enough time to process it all, our sensory experience gets flooded.

Have you ever felt the overwhelm of too much information at once? It’s like when you were a kid and a teacher, or parent, gave you a long list of tasks to complete, and your brain stopped listening after the first one.

The experience brought home how invaluable it is to be in community with women (there were some men there too) who are sensitive to their energetic balance, and willing to explore new ideas, and ways of being in relationship with themselves.

My Takeaways

My big takeaway from the weekend—feeling grounded is key. Grounding yourself takes intention and an active awareness of your energetic state throughout the day.

An easy way to ground yourself is by feeling your feet on the floor and imagining roots, or cords that extend down into the Earth through all the layers of rock, sand, crystals, and magma. Then, imagining Earth’s energy flowing up into to you, energizing your cells. That practice can help your body feel that connection— that groundedness to the Earth— in your whole body.

I loved that gentle movement was a large part of the Radiant Resilience workshop too. And I know that’s why I wasn’t exhausted by the end of each day. Does that sound counter-intuitive? The reality is movement helps us integrate and transmute our energies. Therefore, the energy moves through us, and out if needed, instead of being held in our bodies wearing us down.

Something as simple as tail wagging—moving your butt like a happy puppy—can help your move and transform your energy. Imagine the laughter and silliness in a room full of people wagging their tails. It was joyful, and that lovely feeling that was accessed in seconds. Even doing it alone can bring a smile to your face.

Ms. Harris’s energy was also a key component to the workshop. When you’re in a room with a speaker whose energy is aligned, and they’re holding the space for others with care and compassion it radiates out to everyone in their presence.

Prune also had a fantastic sense of humor. We laughed as much as we cried. And that’s an energetic gift. We as a group benefited from her energetic alignment. We were able to absorb her grounded, joyful energy.

My second big takeaway—and there were many more, but this seems especially relevant to HS women—was that our self-care, our energetic balance, must be our priority.

Taking care of yourself takes care of everyone in your life. Your energy is your superpower, and when you work to align energetically, you’re helping others feel that way too.

So, take a moment and let this sink in: your energetic alignment impacts everyone around you too. By taking care of your needs and energetic alignment, your energy ripples out into your world and benefits you and everyone you know.

Your sensitive energies are needed in the world right now. And when you’re feeling overwhelmed or depleted because you’re not caring for yourself that beautiful sensitive soulful energy doesn’t have a chance to flow outward.

From my sensitive heart to yours, wag your tail, feel yourself rooted to the Earth, take time for joy, laughter, and connecting with others.
