Having gone through her own process of healing from sexual betrayal, Mari A. Lee, LMFT, CSAT-S, CPTT-S, MBAT-S, found that traditional cognitive tools weren’t enough to heal the trauma. She began to incorporate mindfulness into her work. In this episode of the Woman Worriers podcast, she talks with host Elizabeth Cush, LCPC, of Progression Counseling in Annapolis, Md., about mindfulness and how it can help women who have experienced trauma or addiction by helping them stay present with themselves and respond to triggers without turning to a substance or behavior to soothe themselves.
